The day was spent visiting with the Diocletian Palace in Sibenik that has been constructed in the 3rd century. Diocletian's mausoleum has become a cathedral. His remains were removed as he was probably one of the worst persecutors of Christians that were early and the cathedral is St Dominius one of the martyrs of that time. Additionally, I visited with Jupiter's temple nearby. Some of us climbed the stairs up before lunch to the fort above the town for a view. Afterwards we had a talk and demonstration of another guided walk and lavender oil which is why the island is renowned. Regrettably prediction thunderstorms meant we failed to stay the night there but instead went to Vela Luka on another side of the island. We did not go there and again at 3 am to sail to Mljet. I was happy of this as it is a National Park. We crossed on an island in a tiny ferry into a monastery and walked to the big lake. Returning to the mainland, I left the others and walked several kilometer around the large lake and back then round the far shore of the small lake and arrived back at the dock with 15 minutes to save. The large lake is a strong blue seen here with the little lake a brilliant green and the monastery.: They are searching for Italy.
